Ingredients

  • 4 large organic carrots
  • 2-inch piece of fresh ginger root
  • 3 large oranges

Method

  1. Thoroughly wash all produce under cold running water. Peel the carrots using a vegetable peeler, removing any blemishes or green tops. Cut carrots into 2-inch pieces.
  2. Peel the ginger using a spoon's edge to scrape away the thin skin. Cut into small pieces.
  3. Peel oranges completely, removing as much white pith as possible. Separate into segments or cut into quarters.
  4. Juice in optimal order: start with carrots, followed by ginger pieces, then finish with orange segments.
  5. Pour the fresh juice through a fine-mesh strainer if you prefer a smoother consistency. Serve immediately over ice, or consume at room temperature.

Notes

Consume immediately for maximum nutritional benefit. Store in airtight glass containers in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Add a squeeze of lemon juice before storing to slow oxidation.
