  • 3 large overripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional add-ins: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, chocolate chips, or cinnamo

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the overripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until mostly smooth.
  3. Mix the melted butter into the mashed bananas, then add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture, then add flour and gently fold together.
  5. If using nuts or chocolate chips, fold them in now. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
